The United States men’s national team is in a transitional phase, with a new generation of players tasked with steering the federation back to the highest level of international soccer. To complement that on-field mission, Nike has released two sleek new kits — a home and an away design — that will be worn by both the men’s and women’s teams throughout the summer. While the timing would have been perfect for a World Cup showcase in Russia, the kits will still see extensive use during qualifying campaigns for the next major tournaments.
Home Kit Details
The home kit features stripes that shift from red to blue, with a diagonal flow of blue forming an abstract sash. This design is a subtle nod to a recurring element in U.S. kits over the years, reinterpreting the American flag in a way that emphasizes speed.
Inside the jersey, a stylized version of the American eagle includes 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies, serving as a unique inner pride graphic.
The typography for the custom name and number set is inspired by muscle car emblems, incorporating crisp racing stripes and an inset star pattern. This same typeface appears on both the home and away kits.
Away Kit Details
While the home kit draws its inspiration from grounded, patriotic imagery, the away kit embraces the unknown through a space-travel theme. This is most apparent in the inner pride badge, which features sleek negative shaping of the stripes.
A custom USA icon graphic inspired by NASA Space Mission badges appears on the inside neckline of the away shirt, reinforcing the sense of exploration and inner pride.
The custom name and number set matches the home kit — muscle-car-inspired typography with racing stripes and an inset star pattern.

- Sleek Sleeves – Engineered yarns on the sleeves contribute to the speed aesthetic of the kit.
- Increased Airflow – Vaporknit, a highly engineered body-mapped knit fabric, supports greater airflow by producing a duct-like effect. Built-in ribs on the inside help reduce cling.
The unifying motto “One Nation, One Team” has defined the United States Soccer Federation since 2014. It is emblazoned on the inner neck of both the 2018 home and away kits, serving as a starting point for uniforms that will carry both the women’s and men’s teams through initial qualifying stages for upcoming major tournaments.
