The adidas Copa Mundial is a true icon of football footwear, first released in 1979 and still worn today by professionals and amateurs alike. Continuing its legacy, adidas has unveiled the Copa Mundial 21 Primeknit, a release that blends the historical design of the original with modern materials. The new boot retains the classic upper shape but swaps traditional K‑Leather for Primeknit, offering a different construction while preserving the iconic look.

Primeknit Upper: A Modern Upgrade
Like the previous Copa70 World Cup‑themed release, the Copa Mundial 21 PK features an upper identical in design to the original Copa Mundial OG. The key difference lies in the material: the high‑quality K‑Leather has been replaced by Primeknit, which also gives the upper a slightly different construction.

Colourway Inspiration
The chosen colourway offers a faithful recreation of the 2014 adidas Samba release, albeit with slight differences in some details. On the sole, the shade of colour matches that found on the back of the sole of the adidas Copa Sense+ from the SuperSpectral pack, indicating that the final colour scheme draws inspiration from that pack.

Official Unveiling and Player Sightings
The boots were officially unveiled today. Prior to the announcement, Manchester City player İlkay Gündoğan was spotted training in them last week, just before the Champions League match against PSG.
