adidas COPA SENSE Introduces Anatomical Innovations: SENSEPODS, TOUCHPODS, and SOFTSTUDS

The adidas COPA SENSE combines traditional styling with advanced performance features. The initial launch in a Black/Gold colorway signals the boot’s premium quality and elite player profile. Designed from the inside out using anatomical insights on the human foot, the COPA SENSE incorporates three new innovations—SENSEPODS, TOUCHPODS, and SOFTSTUDS—to enhance feel and touch.

SENSEPODS: Eliminating Negative Space

The development began with a detailed examination of the human foot, mapping various sole shapes to understand foot-to-ball connections. This research led to precisely placed SENSEPODS, foam elements inside the heel that minimize negative space around the ankle and Achilles. The result is a seamless connection between boot and foot.

TOUCHPODS: Absorbing Impact Energy

TOUCHPODS are positioned on both the medial and lateral sides of the boot. They are designed to absorb impact energy off the ball at the points where contact most often occurs, improving touch and control.

SOFTSTUDS: Flexible Forefoot Studs

The COPA SENSE introduces SOFTSTUDS, two medial forefoot studs injected with a softer material. These studs bend upon impact with the ball, providing a more responsive feel during play.

FUSIONSKIN Upper: Leather and PRIMEKNIT Fusion

The classic-look upper features FUSIONSKIN, a material that molds to the foot shape. It seamlessly fuses leather and PRIMEKNIT, reducing water absorption and improving flexibility.

Anatomical Collar Design

The collar shape is slightly rotated and opened to the lateral side to follow the ankle’s natural contour. A soft elasticated material allows the boot to stretch with the foot shape, ensuring an anatomical fit.
