For the latest incarnation of the F50, adidas have returned to the boot’s core principle: lightweight speed. The F50 Hyperfast EVO, part of the ‘Too Light’ pack, is touted as adidas’ lightest ever boot to feature at the FIFA World Cup when the tournament gets underway this summer. At just 130g, it is exceptionally light – so much so that the paper removed from the box weighs nearly the same as the boot itself.

Despite its minimal weight, the boot does not compromise on performance. It combines best-in-class technical features to deliver a speed boot designed for elite athletes.

Engineering Lightness Without Compromise

Every element of the F50 Hyperfast EVO has been engineered with lightness at its core. The ultra-light F50 Shell EVO mesh upper reduces overall weight while providing essential structural support. It works with a refined hyper-light SPEEDSYSTEM soleplate featuring a stiff internal core to stabilise the foot during explosive movements. Bladed studs enhance traction for sharper, faster changes of direction. An adaptive TPU skin across the upper and midsole, known as the F50 Cage+, adds rigidity without bulk, securing the foot through rapid twists and turns. A lightweight floating tongue wraps seamlessly around the foot to lock down the heel and minimise slippage, ensuring precise control at speed.

Striking Colourway for the Pitch

The boot is packaged in a striking yellow and orange colourway that demands attention on the pitch. The upper is so lightweight that under certain light it has an almost translucent quality. Signature diagonal three-stripes sweep across the silhouette from heel to forefoot, brought together by a clean, shimmering yellow soleplate. A bold F50 logo is placed along the outer side.

Designed for the World Stage

Sam Handy, General Manager Football at adidas, said: “This is a defining moment for the F50 franchise. The F50 HYPERFAST EVO represents the next step in the evolution of lightweight boot design, unlocking new levels of speed and performance for our athletes on the biggest stages. Every element has been built from the ground up with a relentless focus on reducing weight and enhancing responsiveness. To debut it at World Cup 2026 is incredibly exciting — not just for us, but for the game, as we look ahead to the defining moments our players will create while wearing them.”

The ‘Too Light’ Pack: Options for Every Player

The F50 Hyperfast EVO arrives alongside options for all as part of the ‘Too Light’ pack. Alongside the hero model, there is Lamine Yamal’s fit of preference – the Elite laceless version – and Florian Wirtz’s favoured regular-laced F50 Elite. These weigh in at 170g and 179g respectively. While not as ultra-light as the 130g Hyperfast EVO, these models incorporate additional features aimed at achieving elite ball control at speed.
