While the overall silhouette remains close to its predecessor, the small adjustments aim to improve ball feel and spin generation.
Upper and Demonskin Evolution
The base material stays with Primeknit, a knit already praised for its comfort in earlier versions. The most visible change lies in the rubber studs covering the upper. Previously featuring 406 studs, the new boot reduces that number to 225, with noticeably thicker studs. The coverage area also expands: rather than concentrating on the traditional striking zones, the studs now cover practically the entire front section of the boot. Their thickness is proportionally matched to the areas most often used to strike the ball.
This updated rubber stud pattern is branded Mutated Demonskin. According to adidas, the evolution continues to deliver effective spin‑enhancing elements that increase ball rotation on impact.
Mutated Silhouette and Lock‑Down
The collar receives a dramatic redesign. Dubbed the Mutated Silhouette, it extends to cover the entire ankle, while remaining flexible thanks to its elastic nature. adidas engineers state that this new construction improves the Lock‑Down philosophy, moulding to the foot like a second skin. As with previous Predator generations, a synthetic layer coats the upper to protect the Primeknit yarn, add water resistance, and extend the boot’s lifespan.
Outsole and Stud Configuration
The outsole carries over the modular, two‑piece design introduced in the previous generation, separating the forefoot from the heel to lighten the CONTROLFRAME plate. Studs are rounder than in earlier Predator iterations, following the trend toward shorter, more rounded shapes that suit modern pitches — similar to those found on the adidas Nemeziz range.
