adidas Drop Special Edition Predator “Archive Mutator”

adidas has dropped an “Archive Mutator” version of the Predator that celebrates the history of the iconic power silo. This special edition is the result of a unique collaboration with @thepredcollective and @thepredatorpro, who used their social media following to crowd-source exactly which boots and elements meant the most to true Predator fans. The end result looks like a boot created by Victor Frankenstein — a mis-mash of pieces stitched together to create a mind-bending design. You have to really inspect them to uncover what is going on, and what each piece represents.

Design and Construction

Both boots share a new Primeknit collar and split tooling, with a Solar Blue Fusion Skin upper employed as the main material. Everything else takes on its own unique identity. For example, the right strike zone features Predator SL rubber details, while the left uses the PowerPulse version. Underneath that, you also get the Sweet Spot found on the Predator LZ. The detailing continues extensively.

Crowd-Sourced Heritage

The collaboration with @thepredcollective and @thepredatorpro allowed fans to decide which classic Predator elements were included. The resulting boot is a patchwork of iconic features from different generations, creating a unique design that pays homage to the Predator’s legacy.
