Arsenal Women have launched Block by Block, the most ambitious supporter-led consultation project in the history of the women’s game. The initiative aims to shape the future of Emirates Stadium as the permanent home of Arsenal Women, focusing on culture, visual identity, and matchday atmosphere.
What Is Block by Block?
Block by Block is a community-driven project that goes beyond filling seats. More than 150 supporters have already taken part in six creative consultations, reimagining the matchday experience at Emirates Stadium. Each workshop is led by an Arsenal-supporting artist or creator, turning fan ideas into tangible matchday elements.
Fan-Created Matchday Atmosphere
The collaboration has produced several permanent additions to the stadium experience. A mural in Block 26 honours club legends Kim Little and the late Maria Petri. The North Bank now features a permanent flag display. Music playlists and walkout tracks have been curated to amplify energy, and the pre-match countdown includes hype films and live brass performances from She’s Got Brass, London’s only all-female 10-piece brass band.

Player Involvement in the Process
New signing Olivia Smith joined supporters in one of the consultations, sharing insights on what drives energy on a matchday. This two-way collaboration ensures that fans and players build the atmosphere together.

Quotes from Key Figures
Richard Garlick, Arsenal’s Chief Executive, said: “Our team is fuelled by the passion of our supporters who have been with us throughout our near 40-year journey. Block by Block harnesses the unique and diverse perspectives of the people who have built this community to help shape our next chapter together.”

Head Coach Renée Slegers added: “Emirates Stadium is our home and we want every supporter to feel pride and connection when they come here.”
Farah Chowdhury, Chair of the Arsenal Women Supporters’ Club, said: “Arsenal Women’s culture didn’t start with a campaign; it started with the people who stood, sang, painted, designed, or simply showed up. Block by Block is about giving back to that and building forward together.”

Growing Support and Future Plans
With all 11 Barclays WSL home fixtures being played at Emirates for the first time, and a record 17,000 seasonal members—including the first generation of Emirates season ticket holders—Block by Block is gaining momentum. Five more consultations are planned for the season, each taking place before kick-off to further enhance the atmosphere.

Attendances are soaring and sell-outs are becoming the norm. The new matchday music and hype film will debut at Arsenal Women’s next home fixture against Manchester City on 8 February.
