FC Augsburg & Mizuno Drop Another Beauty With 25/26 Fourth Kit

FC Augsburg and technical partner Mizuno have released their fourth kit for the 2025/26 season, drawing heavily on the city’s heritage as a European textile powerhouse during the Renaissance. The design is a direct reference to Augsburg’s historical identity as Fuggerstadt, named after the influential Fugger family whose trade networks and linen production shaped the region.

Design Inspiration from the City’s Textile Past

The kit takes cues from the era when Augsburg dominated the linen trade and the Fugger family’s commercial legacy influenced continental commerce. Rather than using bold, flashy graphics, the shirt relies on subtle textile-inspired textures and historical motifs to tell a story.

Fabric and Colour Palette

A linen-like base texture gives the shirt a feel of quality and durability, echoing the fine materials once traded through Augsburg. A deep blue variant ties directly to the Fugger Chapel’s interior tones. Additional colour accents include pink, blue, yellow, Bordeaux, and dark green — these represent the family’s personal livery colours and blend with the club’s own visual DNA.

Details That Reflect Heritage

Custom typeface work on the name sets borrows from old Fugger manuscripts, bringing Renaissance lettering into a modern football context. Copper-finished crests and sponsor marks subtly reference the raw materials empire built by the Fugger dynasty.

Embedded Coat of Arms

A Fugger coat of arms is woven directly into the fabric, making heritage an integral part of the garment rather than a printed add-on. On the reverse, the word “Fuggerstadt” replaces the usual club mark, further strengthening the link between the shirt and Augsburg’s historical identity.
