FC Copenhagen and adidas have unveiled a special edition jersey that pays tribute to the 150-year history of Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB), one of the two founding clubs of the Danish side. The retro-inspired design commemorates KB’s role as Denmark’s oldest football club and its lasting influence on the modern club.
Honoring KB’s 150-Year Legacy
Kjøbenhavns Boldklub was established in April 1876 in Copenhagen, making it the earliest club founded outside the British Isles. KB originally played in the area now occupied by Parken Stadium, FC Copenhagen’s home ground. Over a century and a half, KB shaped Danish football culture and produced generations of talent, including early figures Nils Middelboe and Eigil Nielsen as well as recent internationals William Kvist and Thomas Delaney.
Today, KB functions as a key development environment, providing a pathway for young players into FC Copenhagen’s first team and ensuring its legacy continues.
Jersey Design and Heritage Details
The limited edition shirt features a classic retro aesthetic built around KB’s iconic blue and white stripes – colours that remain central to FC Copenhagen’s identity. A traditional collar completes the clean, elegant silhouette. On the chest, the club crest sits opposite the adidas Trefoil logo, a symbol of authenticity and heritage.
