Use this short fit check before committing to a new pair of football boots.

Before a new boot sees the pitch, check heel hold, toe room and forefoot pressure.

Lock the heel

Walk, jog and stop. A little movement is normal, but repeated heel lift can cause friction.

Check toe room

Your toes should not strike the front while you brake. Test this standing, with your usual football socks.

Feel the width

The upper should feel secure without pinching. If it hurts before a session, do not assume it will improve enough later.
