Today, Fútbol Emotion marks an unofficial but fitting celebration of futsal on 5/5 – a date that recognizes the skill and complexity of this indoor version of football. While futsal may sometimes be seen as secondary, the sport deserves equal attention and support alongside 11-a-side football.
Futsal Day at Fútbol Emotion
Football boots dominate conversations across our channels, but just as April 14 celebrated goalkeepers, today we highlight that futsal shoes are essential to our work.
Society advances, and so does futsal. A look back shows that Spain’s national futsal team has brought many more triumphs than its 11-a-side counterpart – seven European championship titles, two continental runners-up finishes, and two World Cup wins (in 2004 and 2004) along with three World Cup runners-up spots. A true source of pride.
The LNFS (National Futsal League) stands without comparison as the world’s best and most beautiful futsal league. Many clubs fought against the odds to make the league what it is today – one of the foremost professional futsal competitions globally. Historic teams such as Interviu Lloyd’s, Caja Toledo, Playas de Castellón, Caja Segovia, Pinturas Lepanto Zaragoza, El Pozo Murcia, and Xota, among many others, laid the groundwork for today’s success.

Our dedication to futsal dates back to the early days of Soloporteros, where we worked equally on football and futsal. That effort is now rewarded through this agreement. For years, we have thought and worked for the futsal player, developing products – goalkeeper gloves, futsal shoes, protections, and many other items – to cover all the needs of the sport.

Futsal as an Olympic Sport
We also want to send a message to the world: futsal should become an Olympic sport once and for all. To close, here are words from Carlos García, president of Kelme, from July 2017 during the presentation of the official LNFS futsal balls: “If there is any sport that has all the characteristics to be an Olympic sport, it is Futsal. We want to transmit a symbolic message, without demanding anything, that Futsal deserves to be in the Olympic Games.”
