The design breaks with convention by placing the club’s mythical griffin outside the traditional crest, marking a visual reinvention that balances heritage with modern identity.
The Griffin Takes Centre Stage
The most striking change is the relocation of the Grifone. No longer contained within the historic club crest, the griffin now appears alone on the left chest – a bold move that strips back the design to amplify the club’s core symbol. The decision may challenge traditionalists, but it reinforces a sense of identity for supporters who identify strongly with the rossoblù colours.
Yellow Trims Add a Striking Accent
Beyond the crest, subtle details elevate the kit. Yellow trims on the collar and sleeve cuffs introduce an unexpected contrast against the iconic red and blue palette. The yellow is a nod to the gold framing of the original crest, providing a sharp, clean finish that aligns with the campaign’s message: “BORN TO SHINE”.
Campaign Rooted in the City
The launch campaign was developed with creative agency No Panic and photographed by Paolo Pettigiani. The imagery places the shirt within the fabric of Genoa – from the views atop Spianata Castelletto to the shadowed textures of the historic carruggi. The visual storytelling emphasises the connection between the club, its home city, and its people.
A Nod to History at the Back of the Collar
Despite the design’s modern direction, tradition remains present. The St George’s Cross – a symbol associated with Genoa since 1913 – is stitched on the back of the collar. This detail serves as a reminder that while the visuals evolve, the club’s identity stays unshakable.
For a club with deep roots but a willingness to challenge convention, the 2025/26 home shirt represents more than a new look. It is a statement of intent, with the Grifone soaring alone and unchained.
