Today we take a closer look at the football boots worn by the MVPs of the Kings League. From former professionals to futsal talents like Carlos Corvo and YouTube stars with exceptional touch, each player has chosen a specific boot to match their style on the pitch.

Is it awkward to talk about oneself? It is – at least for me. I’ve worn different colours throughout the tournament, but only one model. The adidas X Speedportal football boots are, as some of you know, my best allies every time I step onto a football pitch. You’ve seen me in green, pink, and most recently the whiteout version, which I’ll be wearing for the rest of the competition. Without a doubt, the lightest silo from adidas is my favourite for playing the beautiful game.

Ricardo López

Winning a league, a cup and a Premier League is something only a few chosen ones in football history have achieved. One of them is Ricardo López, the excellent goalkeeper defending the net for Iker Casillas’ team, 1K. For that task, Ricardo has chosen the adidas Predator Edge football boots in the .1 version with laces. This silo from the German brand is, in my view, the most historic in football boot design, so it’s no surprise that a goalkeeper who has performed at the highest level for many years chooses Predator to enjoy the Kings League.

Gabriel Cichero

The list of Kings League participants who have also worn their country’s shirt is short. Venezuelan Gabriel Cichero is one of them. After a long and successful career at the elite level of professional football, he is now enjoying the competition of the moment – and he is certainly making the most of it. Wearing the badge of Porcinos FC and the Nike Phantom GT2 football boots, the Venezuelan defender has become one of the standout names of the tournament. This is hardly surprising, as he not only has one of the largest social media followings among players but has also delivered a spectacular level across the ten matchdays so far, even earning the Simyo MVP award for the fourth round.

Joan Poch

The shooter. When Joan Poch winds up his left foot, the relatives of the opposing goalkeeper hold their breath – or at least that’s what I imagine. The XBuyer Team player showcases one of the best strikes in the competition every chance he gets, leaving us with goals that will go down in Kings League Infojobs history. The Puma Ultra football boots are the choice of the Buyer player to blast past opposing goalkeepers. This lightweight, minimalist silo can also be seen on players like Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay, among many others. His striking ability, physical presence and capacity to drive past opponents have earned Joan Poch the Simyo MVP award for a matchday, an honour that only ten players can claim to have received so far.

Pol Lechuga

Pol, we need to talk. The goalkeeper of Los Troncos FC became the second custodian to receive the Simyo MVP award, thanks to his display during matchday 6 – a fully deserved honour that he won and received while wearing the Nike Mercurial football boots. However, Pol has shown some uncertainty throughout the tournament about which footwear to wear on the Cupra Arena pitch. We have also seen him in the adidas Predator Edge and the Nike Phantom GT2. Will we continue to see him in Mercurial? Will he return to Predator? Will he be seduced by Phantom? We don’t know, but we do know that whatever he wears on his feet, he will continue to make a difference in goal for one of the teams with ambitions in this Kings League Infojobs.

Fran Hernández

Get your best suit out – Fran has arrived. The Aniquiladores player is, for many, the best footballer in the competition, and I honestly understand why they think so. Fran exudes class, magic and football from every pore, making a difference in every match and giving the feeling that when he has the ball, bad things are about to happen for the opposition. A player of such flair can only wear boots that match his style – the adidas Predator Accuracy football boots. This silo perfectly suits the ball control ability that the Granada-born player demonstrates week after week on the artificial turf of the Cupra Arena.

Edgar Alvaro

The man of a thousand hairstyles has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market that will take place in April. A true striker – strong, skilful and decisive inside the box – he has already scored eleven goals and is enjoying a very sweet spell. The Nike Mercurial football boots are the choice of the Los Troncos FC forward to find the net week after week. Until now we had seen him in the black version of Nike’s lightest silo, but last weekend he surprised us with the new Nike Mercurial Vapor MDS, which he – as you would expect – matched with his hairstyle. This is the second “Tronco” we have featured on the blog, but will it be the last? Spoiler: No.

Joan Verdú

The third player from Perxitaa’s team to receive the Simyo MVP award was Joan Verdú himself, one of the players who consistently delivers the highest level in the Kings League Infojobs. Many former footballers who have passed through the competition have faced criticism, performing with more sorrow than glory, but that has certainly not been Verdú’s case. He plays well, makes his teammates play, and every time he receives the ball, his colleagues breathe a sigh of relief, knowing he will always make the best decision. And speaking of good decisions, choosing footwear is one of them. The Mizuno Morelia Neo football boots are what Joan Verdú wears every Sunday to showcase his endless class – for me, one of the best boots on the market, and proof that the veteran Los Troncos FC player knows his football gear.

Carlos Corvo

post card Image_20230316_142414_580.webp

Some players have shown that moving from futsal to 7-a-side football is no easy task, but this has not been a problem for Carlos Corvo. The Pio FC player has been making a difference since joining the club of Mexican streamer Rivers, scoring goals and contributing to the game. The imbalance he creates on the left wing, combined with a devastating shot, makes it very difficult for opponents to defend against the skilful Pio player. In addition to playing superbly, Corvo also has good taste in footwear, and a clear example is that for a few weeks now we have seen him in the adidas Predator Precision – a limited-edition remake that is more a work of art than a football boot, much like some of the goals Corvo has been delivering.
