The partnership between Lack of Guidance and New Balance brings a mature, pitch-to-street aesthetic that resonates beyond the obvious logo swaps. The collection, titled “Around The World,” celebrates football as it is really played—raw, honest, and shaped by its people and places.
The Collaboration
Since 2016, Lack of Guidance has occupied the space where football blends into everyday life. New Balance has increasingly moved into that same territory, and the two have now created a collection that reflects a shared understanding of the game beyond the pitch.
The “Around The World” Collection
The collection comprises eleven pieces built around the humble training bib—the fluorescent, mesh staple of Sunday League—reworked as the central motif. That bib design runs through two jerseys, two pairs of shorts, a full tracksuit, socks, a cap, and even a ball.
Design Highlights
A pair of 442 turf sneakers in muted military green grounds the collection back on the pitch. A reversible track jacket and zip-detail pants strike a balance between function and expression. The standout piece is the bib itself, reworked as a wearable vest that unzips into a tote—simple, functional, and well executed.
Creative Direction
The campaign was shot in Curaçao by Gilleam Trapenberg and in the Netherlands by Eva Roefs, both long-time collaborators with Lack of Guidance. Trapenberg’s Curaçao imagery conveys warmth and light, slightly romantic. Roefs’s Netherlands visuals bring a grounded feel with flatter skies and familiar backdrops.

The Lack of Guidance x New Balance “Around The World” collection lands April 17, available in-store and online.
