New Balance has officially presented Liverpool’s away jersey for the 2018/2019 season. The kit, which will be worn by Mohamed Salah and the rest of the squad, brings back purple as an alternative to the classic red home shirt. The home jersey had already been released before the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Design and Colors
The dominant color of the away shirt is designated Deep Violet. The hue is clearer in the central part of the shirt and darker on the sleeves. Orange accents appear on the New Balance logo, the club badge, and the two sponsor logos.
The frontal texture of the shirt matches the design used on the home jersey, which itself recalls the pattern of Anfield Road. The shirt is made with NB Dry breathable technology.
Shorts and Socks
The kit is completed by a pair of shorts that follow a similar color scheme: a purple hue that is lighter on the front section and darker on the back. The socks are also purple, featuring a ring texture that runs down to an orange ring at the ankle area.
Commemorative Detail
On the back of the shirt, there is a detail featuring the classic Liverpool badge next to the number 96. This is in memory of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 people lost their lives.
