Eagle-eyed fans spotted Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood debuting the upcoming Nike SK Phantom GT during last night’s match against Leicester City. The boot is part of a collaboration with British grime MC, rapper, songwriter and record producer Skepta, featuring a distinctive design and data-driven technology developed by Nike.
Design and Collaboration with Skepta
The SK Phantom GT features a risk red upper with black detailing. A metallic silver Swoosh sits toward the heel, while tonal SK branding and the classic SK plug logo appear on the inside footbed. The soleplate is chrome with a black paint splash finish.
The collaboration includes a range of Skepta-inspired pieces on the boot’s upper. While an official release date has not been confirmed, Skepta mentioned June 13th on his Skeptagram account.

Technology Behind the Nike Phantom GT
According to Nike, the Phantom GT is the most data-driven boot the company has ever created. Scientists in the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) spent countless hours analyzing the angles and intensities with which the ball connects with the boot during play.
The design process involved pressure mapping and a basic guide of important data points. The Phantom GT (Generative Texture) uses these digital data sets to build a boot aimed at perfecting feel on the ball and unlocking a player’s creative skills.
