New Balance 'Neon Tide' Pack Arrives Featuring the Lightest Furon v9 Yet

As the World Cup enters its final phase and preparations for the new domestic season begin, New Balance has introduced its latest football footwear collection: the ‘Neon Tide’ Pack. The range is led by the all-new Furon v9 and also includes updated versions of the Tekela and 442 models, all unified by striking Alkaline Green accents.
Furon v9: Designed for Speed
The Furon v9 has already appeared on the pitch during the World Cup. Bukayo Saka and Tim Weah were among the first players seen wearing the ‘Neon Tide’ edition. Saka debuted the boot during England’s match against DR Congo before switching back to the pink ‘Pure Ambition’ pack for the memorable win over Mexico.
Saka was closely involved in the development of the Furon v9. “I spent a lot of time with the product team to give feedback on the Furon v9 so it feels right in realistic game movements. I tested out small details that will affect the comfort and performance on the pitch,” he said.
The Furon v9 arrives in a White/Alkaline Green colourway and, at approximately 177 grams (size 9.5), it is the lightest football boot New Balance has ever produced. Every element of the boot has been stripped back and refined to maximise speed. The lightweight, breathable mesh upper offers a snug, second-skin fit while keeping the foot close to the ball. The boot is built for explosive acceleration, rapid stops, and sharp changes of direction—movements that modern attackers rely on.
New Balance Senior Category Manager for Football, Michael Mills, explained the design philosophy: “The Furon v9 gives players that critical support while they read the game, change course, and explode into open space with confidence. Every detail supports fast reactions and sharp changes of direction while players create separation and disrupt defences.”
Tekela and 442 Complete the Collection
The Tekela takes a different visual direction within the ‘Neon Tide’ Pack. It appears in a vibrant Metallic Blue/Alkaline Green/Team Navy combination, with the metallic blue finish dominating the upper and providing a strong contrast to the lighter shades elsewhere in the collection. The design ensures the Tekela stands out while still feeling connected to the wider pack.
The 442 adopts a more traditional approach. Dressed mainly in white with Alkaline Green accents, it delivers a familiar aesthetic that fans of the silo will recognise immediately. While it may not be the most adventurous design in the collection, its clean, classic appearance remains effective.
