Dagenham & Redbridge have partnered with Umbro and creative collective Acid FC to release their away shirt for the 2025/26 season. The design draws directly from the history of the Stirling Works factory, which once stood beside Victoria Road and powered the local community. Deep black fabric, lightning-inspired graphics, and a coal-toned palette transform the kit into a visual tribute to the area’s manufacturing past.
A Tribute to Stirling Works Factory
The ground at Victoria Road is more than a football stadium. Before matchday chants filled the air, the Stirling Works factory operated alongside the pitch. Workers from the plant doubled as players, fans, and volunteers, forging a culture that went beyond the game. This new away shirt revives that industrial energy and makes it visible every time the team takes the field.
Designer Ed Cowburn on Uncovering Local History
Creative director Ed Cowburn, working with the cult football collective Acid FC, designed the kit to highlight a lesser‑known chapter of the club’s story. Cowburn explained that the factory is part of the land the club occupies, both literally and culturally, yet many lifelong supporters may not know about it. He described the project as an opportunity to bring that history back into conversation, adding that for Acid FC, the strength of the story matters more than the size of the club.
Kit Design Details
The away shirt uses a deep coal black, referencing the ebonite once produced at Stirling Works. The colour evokes the feel of smoke‑stained overalls and steel‑toed boots. Bright lightning graphics streak across the fabric in tonal Dagenham colours, reimagining the electrical charge that once powered the local streets. The classic club crest and the signature Umbro Double Diamond logo complete the design, creating a look that channels East London industrial heritage.
Dagenham & Redbridge will wear this away shirt throughout the 2025/26 National League campaign, bringing a visible reminder of the factory’s legacy to every away ground.
