The summer 2020 transfer window brought several high-profile returns and new arrivals to Serie A. This article examines three of the most notable signings – Álvaro Morata at Juventus, Arturo Vidal at Inter Milan, and Victor Osimhen at Napoli – and the boots they have chosen for the upcoming season.
Álvaro Morata

The adidas Predator Mutator 20+ is a laceless boot featuring Predator Element technology, with rubber elements on the upper that increase grip and improve ball control, even in wet conditions.

The boot is available in both SG and FG soleplate versions.

A white, gold, and black colorway is featured across the range.

A kids’ version of the Predator Mutator 20+ is also part of the collection.
The first signing is Juventus’s new striker, who is no stranger to Serie A after a previous spell under Antonio Conte. Morata has always shown himself to be a true football boot aficionado, wearing virtually all of adidas’s main ranges – Predator, X and Copa – and often being among the first to try limited editions such as the Predator Mania and the Dragon Predator. During his first training sessions back at Juventus, he was spotted wearing the adidas Predator 20+, the model he had worn for much of the previous season.
Arturo Vidal

The Nike Phantom GT Elite DF is the boot Vidal has adopted since his arrival at Inter.

An SG-Pro Anti-Clog Traction version is also available.

The Phantom GT Elite DF FG is seen in a black, metallic silver, and pink blast colorway.

A more affordable Academy Flyease model is part of the Phantom GT line.
Vidal, reunited with Antonio Conte at Inter Milan, brings experience, intensity, leadership and an enormous work rate. Until relatively recently he was usually seen wearing the Nike Mercurial, but since his move to Milan he has started wearing the new Nike Phantom GT. This switch from a speed-oriented boot to a more versatile model designed for control, precision, and comfort suits the Chilean midfielder’s profile.
Victor Osimhen

The Nike Mercurial Superfly VII Elite in a white, flash crimson, hyper jade, and black colorway.

A laser orange, black, and white version of the same model.

Another colorway: black, dark smoke grey, and Chile red.

A white, laser crimson, and black edition of the Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite.
Osimhen joined Napoli from the French league and made a very positive impression from his first matches, demonstrating speed, power, and the ability to turn matches on their head. His playing style calls for a speed boot, so he has chosen the Nike Mercurial, one of the favourite models among the fastest strikers in world football. Its Flyknit construction provides a very light and comfortable feel, allowing him to make the most of his changes of pace and top speed.
These are some of the new stars of Serie A and the boots they have chosen for this new chapter in Italian football.
