Nike has unveiled the first women’s-specific colourway of its Air Zoom Mercurial boot, part of the Bonded Pack. The design will appear on pitch during all women’s tournament fixtures this summer, with a retail launch scheduled for 1 July.
Women’s Bonded Pack Colourway
The Bonded Pack represents a dedicated release for female footballers ahead of a major summer of international competition. The colourway is applied to the Air Zoom Mercurial silo for the first time, marking a shift in how Nike approaches gender-specific boot offerings.
Key Features of the Air Zoom Mercurial
The Air Zoom Mercurial introduces a three-quarter-length articulated Zoom Air bag, engineered specifically for the demands of football. This cushioning unit is built around player movement patterns rather than general athletic needs.
The upper uses a new Vaporposite+ construction, which incorporates a Speed Cage design. This data-driven support system provides lockdown in the areas where footballers require the most stability during rapid changes of direction.
Sustainability Efforts
Academy and Club tiers in the current Mercurial range contain at least 20% recycled content by weight. This use of sustainable materials is part of Nike’s broader push toward its 2025 Impact targets, with scaling recycled inputs across boot production.
Tri-Star Stud Pattern
A new Tri-Star stud pattern debuts on the Air Zoom Mercurial. The geometry is designed to aid lateral movement and downhill acceleration, allowing faster play in multiple directions. This stud layout will be available across all Men’s, Women’s and Kids’ models within the line.
