Cristiano Ronaldo became the all-time leading men’s international goal scorer this week after scoring twice against Ireland, bringing his tally to 111 goals. To mark the milestone, Nike has unveiled a special commemorative Superfly CR110 boot, awarded to 110 rising talents in the countries where Ronaldo has played: Portugal, England, Spain, and Italy.
The CR110 Boot Design
The boot’s shattered multicolor print is a visual representation of breaking records. The design is partially inspired by a childhood anecdote from Ronaldo, when he accidentally kicked a ball through a neighbor’s window, shattering it into pieces.
National and Personal Details
- Heel tape seam: Inspired by Portugal’s national flag, featuring a rich burgundy lateral side, gold detailing, and speckled laces.
- Tongue tab: Includes a graphic interpretation of the date (June 6, 2004) and the minute (90+3 stoppage time) when Ronaldo scored his first professional goal for Portugal.
Limited Availability
The CR110 boots will not be available for public purchase. It is also unclear whether Ronaldo will wear them during a match, as the boots are more internationally themed and he is not scheduled to feature in Portugal’s upcoming games.
