The Nike Phantom GT has quickly become a standout silhouette in the brand’s modern football boot lineup. Following several colourways and the leather-based Tech Craft Pack, Nike now introduces a special edition that connects the present with its own past. The Phantom GT Scorpion pays homage to one of the most memorable adverts in Nike’s history—and the scorpion emblem on the outside of the boot is the giveaway.
A Nod to the Underground Cage Tournaments
Eagle-eyed fans will spot the small scorpion detail on the lateral side of the boot. This symbol is a direct reference to an iconic Nike advert that depicted a secret, underground football tournament played inside a cage. In that commercial, players wore hoods to conceal their identities, and a scorpion sat beside the match ball. The Phantom GT Scorpion colourway is designed to bring that gritty, underground aesthetic back to the pitch.
Design and Colourway
The new colourway features a silver-grey primary tone that gives the boot an aggressive, edgy look—perfectly echoing the mood of that historic advert.
