Nike has unveiled a new colorway for the Phantom GX, the silhouette that offers the highest level of grip and ball feel in the brand’s football boot lineup. This design pays homage to the original Nike Flyknit Racer running shoes from 2013, bringing back the multicolored knit aesthetic that defined that era.
Design Inspiration from the Flyknit Racer
The new colorway features multicolored threads woven throughout the upper, mirroring the iconic palette of the Nike Flyknit Racer. The rest of the boot is constructed with Gripknit technology, the sticky-textured material that delivers exceptional ball control. This Gripknit layer is finished in a deep blue, with gray threads that offer a subtle reflective quality, completing a striking overall look.
Where the boot incorporates Nike’s GhostLaces system, the lacing is fully covered, and the knit upper extends continuously across that area, maintaining a clean, seamless appearance.
Technical Structure and Outsole
Under the hood, the Phantom GX retains the same two-piece chassis as the standard model. The forefoot is the standout section, housing the Gripknit that provides the signature touch and control.
