Nike Scorpion Pack: Mercurial Vapor 17 and Superfly 11 Get a Bold Gradient Makeover

Following the release of the special CR7 Gold Scorpion edition for Cristiano Ronaldo, Nike has launched a wider colourway for its Mercurial silos. The ‘Scorpion Pack’ brings new disruptive colour updates to the Mercurial Vapor 17 and Superfly 11.

Scorpion Legacy Revived

Nike’s connection with the Scorpion motif dates back to the 2002 Secret Tournament campaign, one of the most iconic football advertising moments. The new pack honours that legacy with a striking visual identity.

After Cristiano Ronaldo became the only player to score at six different World Cup tournaments, Nike created two signature boots for him. One was the ‘CR7 Gold Scorpion’, and its release hinted at a broader collection. Now the Scorpion-themed Mercurials are available in a wider release, with Vinicius Jr. set to wear the Vapor 17 and Kylian Mbappé the Superfly 11 during the World Cup knockout stages.

Design and Colourway

Although the Vapor 17 and Superfly 11 are now technically different boots, the Scorpion Pack visually unites them. Both models feature a bold gradient that moves from vibrant pinks and purples at the heel into fiery reds and oranges through the forefoot. The result is a look that feels fast even at a standstill.

Subtle Details

A semi-translucent soleplate carries the same gradient effect underfoot, adding to the overall aesthetic during movement. A scorpion logo on the collar nods to the lineage – the same mark appeared on the Phantom GT ‘Scorpion’ boots in 2020, linking past and present.

World Stage Debut

The pack taps into Nike’s rich storytelling while remaining modern and pitch-relevant. With players like Mbappé and Vinicius Jr. set to wear them on the biggest stage, the Scorpion Pack could become one of the standout Mercurial moments of the year.
