As winter fades and spring arrives, Nike introduces the Spectrum Pack – a collection that draws inspiration from the visible colours of light. The name reflects the rainbow of shades designed to energise players as the season changes. These boots aim to bring a fresh, vibrant look to the pitch while incorporating the latest technology from the Swoosh’s design team.
The Inspiration Behind the Spectrum Pack
The Spectrum Pack takes its cue from the colours visible in the light spectrum – the same hues seen in a rainbow. It is a deliberate contrast to the darker, colder months, offering a burst of brightness as temperatures rise. The visible spectrum that our eyes detect becomes a tool for players to command attention and dominate opponents.
Nike Mercurial Spectrum Pack
This is the first official colourway launched for the new-generation Nike Mercurial. The latest Mercurial features a Vaporposite upper with a transparent effect, similar to the earlier Mercurial Dragonfly, giving a clear view of the technology beneath the surface.
Although the boots still use a 360° upper, this 2021 version feels stiffer than its predecessor. Nike focused its efforts on modernising the upper to boost performance. Flyknit remains in the overall build, but it has been removed from the heel area.
Nike Phantom GT Spectrum Pack
The Phantom GT stands out with its offset lacing system, moved to the outer side of the boot – a feature reminiscent of the classic Total 90. This design gives players a larger contact surface with the ball. The upper uses Nike Flyknit with moulded textures, offering a soft touch, flexibility, and a lightweight feel.
The soleplate and stud configuration are entirely new, drawing aesthetic inspiration from the Total 90. The Nike Hyperquick system combines different stud types: a stiffer heel area with two tapered studs for quick direction changes, plus laminated studs across the rest of the sole to provide stability and traction. This stud pattern suits the agility-focused design of the boot.
Nike Tiempo Legend Spectrum Pack
The Tiempo Legend blends classic and modern design. A white kangaroo leather upper is accented with a green Swoosh, creating a clean, eye-catching look.
These boots – notably worn by Gerard Piqué – combine traditional kangaroo leather with a synthetic heel counter that reduces weight and ensures a secure fit. The sole features Hyperstability technology to keep the foot stable during play. The result is a classic Nike style with standout colour choices.
