Heritage of Two German Icons
The Porsche 911 first appeared in Stuttgart in 1964, establishing an unmistakable silhouette that has been admired worldwide for over half a century. Just four years later and a few kilometres away in Herzogenaurach, the Puma King football boot was born in 1968. The King Platinum 911 Legacy brings these two German myths together, honouring their roots through a design that values substance and tradition.
Design and Materials
Premium Kangaroo Leather Upper
The upper is constructed from extremely soft kangaroo leather, treated with Puma’s Lazertouch technology. Laser-engraved patterns are fused into the leather to create textured impact zones, enhancing ball control without causing excessive stretching. The leather adapts quickly to the foot, maintaining its shape over time.
Support and Fit
A conventional lacing system sits atop an evoKNIT upper, similar to that found on the Puma Ultra football boot, providing a smooth and secure fit. An external heel counter offers additional stability during aggressive movements, ensuring the foot is well supported.
Outsole and Versatility
The FG/AG outsole is designed for use on both natural grass (dry or wet) and artificial turf pitches. Puma’s Rapidsprint stud technology, made from Pebax, combines conical and laminated studs for lightweight acceleration and effective rotation during turns. While suitable for most artificial turf surfaces, the outsole is less ideal for older first- and second-generation AG pitches due to the contact surface design.
