The Puma ONE 1 marks the latest evolution of the brand’s speed silo, combining a completely reworked upper with fit modifications. Available in both k-leather and synthetic versions, this edition is the most complex to date. The k-leather model pictured here was worn by Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Agüero, Antoine Griezmann, and Olivier Giroud during the World Cup.
Visual Design
The high-contrast orange detailing against a silver chrome upper makes the ONE 1 striking in person. However, the boot’s many undulations and added pieces across the upper make it notoriously difficult to photograph. The combination of strong contrast and layered textures means no single angle does the design full justice.
Lacing System
The standard eyelets function as expected, but the key addition is a set of extra eyelets located toward the top outer portion of the lacing system. These optional eyelets allow the wearer to customize the fit for a more dynamic, personalized feel. While they may look slightly unusual, they have no negative impact on performance.
Front Pull Tab
Many players have questioned whether the front pull tab could snag on opponents’ boots. In practice, this is extremely unlikely, especially because the laces tie over it. The pull tab proves highly practical for putting the boots on and removing them, offering added functionality without compromising safety.
Fit
Earlier Puma speed boots were known for a tight fit, but the ONE 1 breaks that pattern. Modifications to both the ONE and FUTURE silos have made the fit more reliable and market-friendly. The ONE 1 offers a solid medium-to-wide fit, one of the best in the speed category. The upper has a little extra stretch, meaning it will likely improve if it feels too tight during the first wear.

A full review of the ONE 1 is forthcoming. Despite the visual challenges the boot presents, the overall construction is efficient and creates a new style of speed boot that gives players something different on the pitch. More details to follow.
