As the Premier League season moves into the darker winter months, PUMA has introduced a new version of its official match ball. The Orbita Fluo is the first fluorescent ball used in the Premier League under the PUMA partnership, designed to stand out under floodlights and against grey, snowy, or muddy winter pitches.
Why a Fluorescent Ball for Winter?
Shorter days and increased reliance on stadium lighting make ball visibility crucial for players and fans. The Orbita Fluo addresses this with a vivid yellow base, enhanced by red and orange contrasting panels. The bold colour scheme ensures the ball remains highly visible in low-light conditions, whether on green turf or snow-covered surfaces. It evokes the atmosphere of cold, rainy matchdays in the stands.

Performance Beneath the Bold Colours
The Orbita Fluo shares the same technical platform as the standard PUMA Orbita ball used earlier in the season. Its 12-panel construction provides balanced weight distribution. High-frequency moulding and deeper seams improve aerodynamics and flight stability. The surface texture is optimised for wet conditions, delivering maximum grip even when the ball is rain-soaked. While the striking appearance draws attention, the design remains function-first.
