Following the success of the initial launch last October, Puma has returned to the football boot market with one of the lightest models in history: the Puma Ultra SL. These boots continue the German brand’s focus on technological innovation and cutting-edge marketing in football.
Design and Colourway
The new Puma Ultra SL football boots feature a modern design in a white, green, and black combination. The upper displays a graphic pattern in green and black, while the inner tongue and sole are entirely white.
A notable detail compared to the original version is the absence of any direct reference to the Rimac brand. Instead, this colour scheme is entirely inspired by the Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights are an optical phenomenon of glowing light visible in polar night skies, caused by solar wind particles colliding with Earth’s upper atmosphere, channelled by the magnetic field.
Upper Construction
The upper of the new Ultra SL is built using the same technologies as the standard Puma Ultra FG/AG: a MATRYXEVO fabric made from reactive Kevlar and carbon fibres. This arrangement is designed to provide greater support and grip during all types of movement on the pitch. The material is covered with a very thin TPU overlay to increase durability. The overall upper design has a super-aerodynamic finish, inspired by the bodywork of the Rimac, resulting in a weight of just 90 grams.
Sole and Outsole
The outsoles of these new Ultra SL boots are identical in features to those of the first edition. They feature an FG/AG studded outsole made entirely from PEBAX. The key characteristic is the design and configuration of the studs, which are intended to boost speed and acceleration for all players.
