Puma La Liga Official Match Ball 2019/20 Released with Advanced Technology

With a new sponsorship deal set to begin in August 2019, Puma has unveiled its official La Liga Match Ball for the 2019/2020 season. The ball represents the brand’s most technologically advanced design to date, featuring an innovative panel structure and a bold visual identity inspired by the league.

Performance and Construction

The match ball is constructed using 18 heat-sealed panels that create a perfect spherical shape. This design aims to provide improved stability, a softer touch, and reduced water absorption. Key to its performance is a 1mm Hi-Solid Dimple PU (San Fang) casing, which enhances aerodynamics while offering high resistance to wear and tear. The dimple pattern, similar to that of a golf ball, ensures a straighter flight path and greater consistency on impact. An additional POE foam layer is incorporated to improve touch and produce a more explosive feel off the foot.

Design and Aesthetics

Puma selected a striking combination of green tones to maximize visibility on the pitch. A glimmer green shade is paired with the NRGY red of the Puma logo set against a white casing, creating a dynamic visual effect during play. For the first time, the ball features the LaLiga ‘beat’—a key element of the league’s visual identity—integrated into the design alongside the Puma logo.

Partnership with La Liga

This release marks the beginning of Puma’s role as the official match ball supplier for La Liga. The ball is part of a wider collaboration that brings the brand’s advanced football technology to one of the world’s most exciting domestic leagues.
