As the year draws to a close, Sports Emotion takes stock of 12 months defined by rapid growth, operational scaling, and the successful launch of a new sports vertical. The company closed 2024 with a turnover of €130 million, up from €80 million in 2023, and reported expansion across all business units: online, physical retail, and teamsports.

Record Financial Performance and New Vertical Success
The headline figure of €130 million represents the sum of multiple growth drivers. Notably, Basketball Emotion achieved €8 million turnover in its first year and won the European award for Best New Retail Brand at the Mapic Awards in Cannes. This milestone demonstrates Sports Emotion’s ability to replicate its specialist retail model in new verticals while maintaining core principles of omnichannel, specialisation, authentication, and credibility with consumers and suppliers.

Physical Retail Expansion Outpaces Digital
In 2024, Sports Emotion’s physical channel surpassed its digital channel in sales for the first time. The retail footprint grew both in quality—by reinforcing the existing shop model—and in quantity, with new openings in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Madrid’s Vaguada Shopping Centre, Granada’s Nevada Shopping, and a second store in Milan. This marks a significant shift after 24 months of heavy investment in brick-and-mortar locations.

Teamsports: Managing Over 1,000 Clubs
The teamsports unit continued to be the fastest-growing business line. Sports Emotion now manages more than 1,000 clubs across Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France, providing kits and services to over 350,000 players annually. The division’s growth reflects its added value to clubs and the wider football community.

Omnichannel Management for Professional Clubs
Sports Emotion demonstrated its capability to run full omnichannel retail operations for professional clubs such as Mallorca, Real Zaragoza, and SD Huesca. The company’s processes maximise both revenue and customer experience for these partners.

Mobile Apps Drive Online Sales
Mobile applications now account for 20% of online sales and are set to play a key role in the upcoming Member programme. Alongside the established Fútbol Emotion app and the Yulava platform, Sports Emotion launched a Basketball Emotion app that is already used by thousands—both on personal devices and in‑store kiosks.

Challenges Amid Rapid Growth
Despite strong overall growth, the company did not meet its sales forecast or margin targets for the year. Profitability remained positive, but financial results fell short of expectations. Sports Emotion acknowledges the complexities of digesting growth across multiple verticals, larger stores, M&A integrations, and international expansion. The organisation has multiplied sales fourfold since 2021, and management emphasises the need to balance ambition with humility and continue building solid foundations.

Team Culture and Recognition
With more than 700 employees, Sports Emotion invested in programmes such as Feel Good (promoting mental and physical health through SportTips) and Women Accelerate (fostering female talent). The company’s people management efforts earned the Talento Empleo Aragón award in the Large Company category, reflecting both job growth and cultural improvement.
Warehouse Expansion and Automation
To handle increased product volume, Sports Emotion expanded its warehouse space from 7,000 to 30,000 square metres and began automating parts of the logistics process. Dedicated warehouses now support operations like Teamsports.

Brand Partnerships and Innovation
The company highlighted its collaboration with major brands including adidas, Nike, and Puma, positioning itself as a European specialist in sport retail through digital experiences, content, and high‑concept physical stores. Innovation initiatives in 2024 included a Back To Football car raffle (five‑year lease), charity laces against cancer that dyed pitches pink, in‑store events with guests like Carvajal, and the first Emotion Football Cup—a tournament held in Huesca with national and international teams.

Looking Ahead to 2025
Sports Emotion’s focus for the coming year is consolidation. Plans include solidifying the foundations laid in 2024, remaining faithful to company values, and continuing steady growth. A new sports vertical is set to launch in 2025, and a Member programme will debut in early 2025, aiming to deepen the relationship with consumers through experiences, purchasing advantages, products, and services. Further initiatives remain undisclosed.
