Pre-season has not yet kicked off, but many of Europe’s top teams have already unveiled the kits they will wear in their bid to reclaim their place at the top of the global football scene. Will they succeed? That remains to be seen. What is certain is that the five clubs featured here are already winning the first match – the kit battle.
AC Milan
AC Milan’s new jersey for the 2021–22 season marks three years since the surprise announcement that the club would part ways with adidas after 20 years and appoint Puma as their new kit supplier. Although it initially felt strange not to see the three‑stripe logo alongside the Rossoneri crest, Puma’s excellent work has made the feline emblem a familiar sight.

The jersey is a red and black design with vertical stripes of varying widths. The widest stripe, in black, runs down the centre. Two narrower black stripes are positioned just below the club crest and the brand logo, highlighting both against a black background. Two even thinner stripes complete the distinctive look without straying from the club’s identity.
Real Madrid
Adidas has been kitting out Real Madrid for more than 20 years, and this season is no exception. While the club’s home jerseys are often simple and sometimes described as bland, adidas has introduced notable details and colours for the 2021–22 kit.

Blue takes centre stage – not as the main colour, but because its shade and distribution make it stand out against the white base. Orange details are also incorporated, combining well with the blue and white. This design is likely to be remembered as more than just another kit in Real Madrid’s history.
Paris Saint-Germain
Four years after Jordan announced via a tweet that the Jumpman would replace the Nike Swoosh on Paris Saint‑Germain’s third kit, the collaboration has proved a success. For the first time, the Jumpman appears as the main logo on PSG’s home jersey for the 2021–22 season.

This is a simple yet striking dark blue jersey with the Jordan logo and sponsor name in pure white, and the club crest outlined in white. Details include a round neck in red and white, inspired by the Chicago Bulls style, and the same colour nod on the sleeves. Associated with players such as Mbappé and Neymar, this kit is expected to be a huge sales success.
Olympique Marseille
Olympique Marseille’s new jersey for the 2021–22 season, produced by Puma, brings together colours, history, and design. The white and sky blue combination is among the most appealing in football.

The design is inspired by an adidas jersey worn by the French side 30 years ago, blending retro feel with modernity. The four stripes on the sleeves are the most distinctive feature, alongside a V‑neck and perfect placement of logos, sponsors, and the crest. Puma continues to prove it can meet every challenge.
FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona’s new kit for the 2021–22 season reflects Nike’s mastery of originality and beauty. The jersey initially appears a little odd, with shapes that do not quite fit together and lines of varying thicknesses and directions. However, Nike has drawn directly from the club’s crest.

The design is essentially the Catalan club’s crest transferred onto the shirt in two colours. Bold and avant‑garde, it captures the innovative spirit of Barcelona. Nike and FC Barcelona have created a kit that is bound to be a commercial success.
This has been our selection of the top five home kits for the coming season. In a few months, we will see how well they have been received by fans and whether they become fondly remembered or a dark chapter in their clubs’ history.
