Vasco da Gama and Nike have officially begun their partnership with the unveiling of the club’s 2026 home and away kits. The new shirts mark the first time Nike has produced Vasco’s matchwear, bringing together the Swoosh and a club that has long defined its identity through courage and navigation.
A Partnership Rooted in Courage
Courage is central to Vasco da Gama’s identity, and that same spirit now runs through the fabric of the new kits. The collection celebrates the club’s history, its nautical origins, and its instinct to chart its own course. Nike’s entry into South American football continues with this partnership, following a similar agreement with Atlético Mineiro.
Renato Aguiar, Marketing Director at Fisia – Nike’s official distributor in Brazil – explained the inspiration behind the collection:
“This collection is born from the instinct that defines both Vasco and Nike. Every detail, from the reinterpreted diagonal stripe to the concept that guides the campaign, celebrates the strength of a club that has never followed pre-defined routes. Vasco will always navigate according to its beliefs. And that is what this collection represents: the path of courage.”



Home Kit Design: Reimagining the Diagonal Sash
The home shirt retains Vasco’s classic black base but reinterprets the diagonal sash – a key club symbol – with graphics inspired by water. Waves, flow, and crossings nod to the club’s nautical roots and spirit of navigation. A further detail is the inclusion of the geographical coordinates of São Januário – 22° 53′ 27.2″ S, 43° 13′ 41.9″ W – etched into the collar, anchoring the shirt to the stadium that is the heart of the fans.




Away Kit: Classic White with Wave-Inspired Sash
The away jersey uses a white base with the same wave-inspired sash, now set against black sleeves and a crew neck collar for sharp contrast and attitude. Like the home shirt, the coordinates of São Januário are present in the collar, serving as a subtle reminder of the club’s foundation.
Leadership on the New Partnership
Vasco president Pedrinho emphasised the deeper meaning of the new kits:
“This jersey represents much more than a uniform. It translates the essence of Vasco: a club that has always had the courage to face challenges, break barriers, and write its own history. Being alongside Nike, the biggest sports brand in the world, reinforces Vasco’s size and ambition to occupy a space befitting its history.”
